The State Of The NHS And Policy Of Ignoring Clinicians Is About To Cost Lives Of NHS Workers

The complacent, ‘wait until something happens’ of the British Government, and then do as little as possible, is being seen for what it is with the Covid-19 virus – a complacency matched only by the knowledge that ignoring the science and implementing a propaganda campaign to convince the public, of the science of doing as little as possible until necessary; is based on scientific advice they are getting and not on the fact that they know there are no adequate resources to combat this virus which will inevitably overwhelm the UK’s NHS and cost the lives of many nurses and doctors on the front line of the pandemic!

Already Johnson has claimed that no healthcare system, no matter how excellent it may be, cannot stop being overwhelmed by this pandemic which is often compared to ‘Spanish Flu’ which killed millions across the globe.

A claim he made once again tonight and one we will hear repeatedly, in an attempt to diffuse the anger over the state of the NHS that the Tories are responsible for; he knows will come!

With news over the weekend that a 36-year-old NHS nurse, with no underlying health issues, is fighting for her life in hospital after contracting Coronavirus (Covid-19) and following the reports of two NHS specialist doctors also being on ventilators earlier this week, the nightmare scenario is already upon us!

Mother-of-three Areema Nasreen is on a ventilator in intensive care in Walsall Manor Hospital in the West Midlands - where she has worked for the past 16 years. She developed symptoms 10 days ago, starting with body aches, a high temperature and then a cough.

Last Friday, she tested positive for the highly contagious respiratory disease  Coronavirus (COVID-19).

Sky News reported that his colleague was very sick and in a critical condition.

Speaking anonymously to the news channel, they quoted him as saying her condition had "deteriorated very quickly".

He added:

"I can't confirm much but I can say she deteriorated within the space of 24 hours and is in ITU [intensive treatment unit]. I agree we need awareness regarding this so people realise the role the NHS is playing and risking themselves."

Meanwhile, the Daily Mirror is reporting that people in their 30s and early 40s with coronavirus are "fighting for their lives" in intensive care, according to a Labour MP who is also a practicing doctor.

Rosena Allin-Khan MP for Tooting, is a senior A&E registrar, has been doing shifts in St George's Hospital in South London and has expressed surprise at how young some of the patients are. The Mirror quoted her as saying Boris Johnson's "relaxed" approach to the disease and "mixed messaging" could cost lives.

Speaking on BBC Radio 4's Today Programme, Dr Allin-Khan said:

"We have patients who are in their 30s and early 40s who are previously fit and well who are now in the intensive care and fighting for their lives. This is a virus which is very, very difficult to predict. We just don't know how the course of the next few weeks is going to pan out."
She added that there is a "very real sense that the number of cases are growing and they are growing very, very quickly. If we look at the fact that we are two weeks behind Italy, we are headed for a disaster if people do not heed the social-distancing measures.

The Prime Minister simply said yesterday he wants people to enjoy themselves outside while also saying that people should stay two metres apart outdoors.

This relaxed style, mixed messaging will cost lives and I believe people are struggling to follow guidelines because they are just not clear."
